North Central Washington Junior Livestock Show
March 27-29, 2008

The 13th Annual North Central Washington Junior Livestock Show (NCWJLS) will be held March 27th - 29th, 2008, at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake, Washington. The NCWJLS offers an excellent opportunity for young people from throughout the Pacific Northwest to showcase their market beef, lamb, and swine projects in an educational, fun and competitive environment. The 2008 event will include classes for market steers, lambs, and swine; carcass lamb and swine; as well as species fitting and showing classes by age division. Market livestock and meat-judging contests will also be offered.

The NCWJLS is open to all 4-H and FFA members in good standing, including members in Oregon and Idaho. All entries, including carcass hogs and lambs, must be postmarked by March 1, 2008—No Exceptions. Exhibitor fee is $5.00 per head and must accompany entries.

Lambs must have a full set of lamb’s teeth, with no visible yearling teeth.

Market hogs must weigh between 235 and 285 lbs.

Hogs not having weight data are not eligible for Grand or Reserve Champion(s).

 

 

Wool length must between 1/16”  & ¾”

No Body Shaving-1/2” minimum body hair length

 

 

 

All lambs must have a scrapie tag from producer

 

 


New classes for 2008 show:  Beef and Lamb Non-Market Class Bonanza

-“All Breed” Cattle Classes: Prospect Steer (feeder steer), All Breed Heifer, Working Cow (2 year or older herd cows).  ALL BEEF ENTRIES MUST BE HALTER BROKE. 
Entry Fee $20/head.
Entry fee will be pooled for class awards and premiums.


- Prospect Lamb Class: (minimum lamb wt.75 lbs when weighed in @ show).
  Entry Fee $10/head.
  Entry fee will be pooled for class awards and premiums.          

 

 - Possession dates for “Bonanza” entries is March 1, 2008. 

           

Health forms for all sale animals must accompany entries at the scales
