Registration is from 2:30 to 2:45 with 50 minute classes running until 7:00 p.m. 
Youth younger than 8th. grade must be accompanied by an adult.

WORKSHOPS

*Take Your Best Shot*  Karen Robertson
Bring a camera if you have one. Practice setting the scene and taking better pictures. Karen Robertson will lead you through some fun hands-on photography. For beginners through experienced photographers.

 

*Make Your Best Shots Better*  Karen Robertson
Explore methods for selecting, cropping, and sizing photographs for display, print, e-mail or the web. Participants will use tools from simple scraps of paper to computers. Bring your photos; prints or on a memory card, thumb drive, or lap top.

 

*Own a Virtual Horse for a Year!*   Robin Nachtigal & Becky Evers
Part One:
Purchase your own virtual horse! Learn the general costs of caring for a horse for a year. Purchase feed, tack and learn about annual upkeep expenses.

Part Two:
Roll the dice and take your horse to shows, gaming or trail rides. Experience paying for tack, entry fees, shoeing, unforeseen veterinary fees and more!

*Public Presentations*  Ryan Baye
From introducing yourself to a group - to structured demonstrations for judged competitions. Pick up some tips for “being up front,” planning, and presenting topics
to others.

 

*Sheep and Goats*  Jill Swannack, DVM
For sheep and goat project  participants, basic to advanced. Learn about  selection, feeding, and health. Question and Answer time available.

 

*The Ins and Outs of Scholarships*   Art Swannack
Do’s & Don’ts of filling out scholarship applications and what evaluators look for. Hands-on activities include on-line scholarship searchers. Great for parents, leaders, and teens 9th. Grade & up!

 

*Poster Making*  Rhonda Widmer
Fair Superintendent, Rhonda Widmer, will help demystify the judges score sheet to guide your poster planning and construction.

 

The following activities will be open to adults and members during each session:

PQA:  Pork Quality Assurance: A self teaching and correcting CD available to swine project members. Complete the CD and you will eligible to receive your PQA certificate.

Hands on Learning Activities:  Open to adults and members to come and play! Find an idea to take back to your club.

Record Books:  Do you have questions? Would you like to see samples?  Bring your record book, ask questions, get hands-on, real-time help.
