Next NE District 4-H Teen Rally Planning Meeting

July 22, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m  Lincoln Co Drug & Alcohol Center, Davenport

The Center is right on Hwy 2 in "downtown" Davenport, next to the Food City.
All NE District Teens welcome to join the planning team!

July Notes:

7/8/08
Sorry that I was not able to make it to the meeting.  I have a very busy work schedule this week.
I have gotten the information from Carey Roos about the beta test of the "Access 4-H" project.  Unfortunately, simply forwarding it would be rather confusing so I will have to explain it at our next meeting.  I will continue pursuing it as a workshop possibility.
If there is anything else that I can help with, just let me know and I will do my best.
Keep up the hard work!
Caleb

7/4/08
Hi everyone, this is just a reminder of the Teen Rally Planning Meeting on July 8th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Drug and Alcohol Center in Davenport.

Bring any information you have found on the activities you took to research.
We will be blocking out the schedule.

I will be bringing a fund raising letter to give you, so start thinking of people and places you can go to to ask for funds. A prize will be awarded to the person who raises the most money.

If you can not make the meeting but have information to give then please email me what you have and I will present that for you.

Have a Happy 4th and I hope to see you at the meeting!
Emily

April Planning Meeting Notes

We decided:

  • NE Rally will be held Friday evening, Sep 26 thru Sunday mid-day, Sept 28th
        (final times to be set)
  • at Bar 41 Ranch (confirmed with them) 15 miles north of Wilbur on Hwy 21
where we will have cabins with beds, bathrooms with showers (yay), great kitchen facilities,
meeting hall and outdoor activities for $17 per night per person lodging costs
        (not including food).

Goals:

  • build teamwork/trust building skills,
  • learn better leader skills,
  • learn something new & different,
  • meet new people,
  • get excited about 4-H.

The theme will be Survivor 4-H Rally Edition with goals to Outlearn, Outlead, Outserve & OutLive (or vice versa). We will look into details of the Amazing 4-H Race in Thurston County to see what we could use here; workshops and activities that could be adapted to the Survivor theme and Tshirts adapting the Survivor Logo /4-H Edition.

We want to check to see more details of what's available about Bar 41 -
They mentioned possible hay ride. Do they have bbq's for cooking? What about canoe
or fishing training/fun?

Everyone is challenged to come back with workshop ideas:  April suggested sports medicine (Surviving Sports) that she could get instructor for; Joy suggested outdoor survival skills perhaps taught by youth in Civil Air Patrol; other ideas needed including service projects as well as names/phone numbers of contact persons.

First Meeting

At the lst meeting we came up with tenative schedule and some great ideas of canoe training and Fairchild Air Force Survival School coming to teach survival skills.

We need menu ideas. Different people are confirming information about workshops and community service projects of letters/care pkg to soldiers, & easy-to-make washable toys we can donate to our new Family Resource Shelter.

We also have two-hour blocks on Friday nite and Saturday nite that we want to fill with fun activities so come up with ideas there.

SA's & CTR's will plan get-to-know you/ice breaker activities Friday Evening. The Core committee of Planning Chair, SA's, CTR's and adult leaders will be touring Bar 41 Ranch prior to the June 6th meeting so we can bring more info to you.

We are still hoping that we can get representation from more counties so please invite and share this Rally planning information to anyone you know in the NE Dist.

Thanks Spokane & Stevens County delegates!
Hope to see you all there! Emily & Joy
